How to print and test a restaurant QR code

Download your QR code from LFMenu, leave its margin intact and print a test copy. Scan that actual print in your dining room before producing the full batch. Always include the address in plain text as a backup.

Choose the right file

PNG works well in an office document or an email. For a large poster or artwork for a print shop, SVG keeps its edges sharp when enlarged. The QR code panel also lets you open the A4 table tent sheet, with four per page, showing the restaurant name and public address.

Keep good contrast and a clear margin

Leave the empty area around the code clear: do not cover it with a border, text or decoration. Choose a dark code on a plain, light background. Check the result if you add your logo. Glossy paper or a plastic sleeve can cause reflections that make scanning harder.

Test at the table with several phones

Print one table tent at its final size. Try scanning it with several phones while seated at the table, under the lighting used during service and at the intended distance. Check that the page belongs to your restaurant and that the prices are correct. If scanning is unreliable, make the code larger or change the material, then test again.

Provide an option for customers who cannot scan

Keep the public address in plain text below the QR code. LFMenu print sheets already include it, so customers can type the link into their browser. Keep a paper menu available too: a flat battery or lack of connection should not stop someone choosing a meal.

Update the menu without reprinting your table tents

The QR code points to the restaurant's stable address. Changing a price or renaming the restaurant does not change that address. When the page opens, the menu for the current service is selected according to your settings, and the other menus remain available. After an edit, open the public page to check it. A menu taken down displays a removal message; the QR code does not republish its content.
